Redundant means data, servers or applications are stored in several data centres at different addresses. If one data centre is hit by a disaster or an accident, the data still exists in the others.

VPS hosting

With VPS hosting (Virtual Private Server) you get a fixed place on a physical server, full root access and the ability to adjust capacity over time. You only pay for your share of the server, and other VPS customers' problems don't affect you.
It is an obvious IaaS option if you have internal IT staff. You get control of operating system, applications and configuration without the cost of a whole physical server.
